Role Descriptions & Responsibilities

Clinical Nurse Manager 1-3
Clinical Nurse Managers operate as senior managers within a Nursing Home and report directly to the Nursing Home’s Director of Care and/or General Manager and/or their Deputy depending on the nursing home. Clinical Nurse Managers are required to have a primary Bachelor of Nursing Degree qualification. or equivalent Diploma level qualification for non-EEA nationals. Previous experience in a junior management role is beneficial.
Staff nurses operate under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager. Staff nurses are required to have a primary Bachelor of Nursing Degree qualification or equivalent Diploma level qualification for non-EEA nationals. Staff nurses will be provided with opportunities for promotion to Clinical Nurse Manager positions within the organisation based on performance and experience, along with opportunities to undertake additional courses to expand their qualifications during their time with Brookhaven Healthcare.
Senior/Lead Health Care Assistant
Senior health care assistant’s will undertake all of the tasks associated with the Junior health care assistant role and in addition take on a greater leadership role in assisting the nursing staff in making decisions on hygiene, nutritional and mobility needs for residents. They will supervise the work of Junior health care assistant under the direction of the staff nurses. Senior /Lead health care assistant’s also provide experienced guidance to new health care assistant’s during period of induction training.
Junior Health Care Assistant
Junior HCA’s provide the daily care and assistance to the residents within the Nursing Home. They will work as part of a team lead by a staff nurse/CNM under the supervision of the Nursing Home’s Director of Care/General Manager and/or their Deputy to cater for the all clinical and care needs of the residents. HCA’s are required to have a basic level of training to include the completion of a suitably relevant FETAC Level 5 course such as Care of the Elderly.
Trainee Healthcare Assistant
Brookhaven Healthcare will on occasion offer employment to candidates currently undertaking a suitable course of education in the care of the elderly e.g. FETAC Level 5 – Care of the Elderly
Brookhaven Healthcare offers a limited number of Activity Coordinator roles within the organisation. Activity Coordinators play a central role in the lives of our Residents. They work to ensure that Residents are provided with a vibrant and interesting programme of events, while taking into consideration any individual needs or preferences of the Residents or their families.
Brookhaven Healthcare has a limited number of Administration roles within the organisation. Admin staff work directly under the supervision of the Director of Care/General Manager of the Nursing Home and under the guidance of the Group HR Manager.
Brookhaven Healthcare has a limited number of Receptionist roles within the organisation. Receptionists ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the ‘front office’. They work closely with the finance department and are responsible for certain administration within Brookhaven.
Brookhaven Healthcare has a limited number of Chef/Cook roles within the organisation. Meeting the catering needs of our residents will be their primary task within the Nursing Home. Chefs/Cooks will work under the supervision of the Director of Care/General Manager.
Brookhaven Healthcare has a number of Household/Cleaner roles within each of its Nursing Home facilities.
Kitchen Assistant Staff
Brookhaven Healthcare has a number of Kitchen Assistant roles within each of its Nursing Home establishments. The role will be to support the chef/cook in the delivery of a high-quality catering service to residents.
Brookhaven Healthcare has a limited number of Maintenance Staff roles within each of its Nursing Home establishments. The person holding this role will be responsible for the supervision and routine maintenance of essential equipment.
